The LMRL's U12 Competition Introduction (CI) program is a development program for any athlete registered in one of LMRL member's association in the U12 division who is interested in high performance ringette opportunities.
The U12 CI program offers an introduction to competitive ringette with an emphasis on learning more advanced ringette skills, positioning and increasing their game IQ along with an opportunity to compete in the Pacific Challenge Cup Tournament.
Information about the CI program will be published each fall. The program typically begins in November.
There are a number of initiatives in the Lower Mainland that centre Indigenous and equity deserving participants.
The Ice Hawks Ringette Association is a member of the LMRL who operates in Chilliwack and provides barrier-free access to ringette programming for Indigenous youth. Contact icehawksringette@gmail.com to learn more.
Ringette was invented in 1963 as a safe and accessible sport designed for female participants who, at the time, were pushed to the margins of organized team ice sports. Over the past 60+ years, the female dominated sport has grown to be inclusive of all genders.
The LMRL is working to develop a skill enhancement program for male and non-binary athletes as it creates space for the development of all participants. More information will be posted as it is made available.
